Nanjing, the Capital City of Six Dynasties in China’s history, embraces rich cultural deposits.
China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC), a central enterprise, integrates the innovative power of residential buildings to crash a new spark: in the planning concept, the traditional small-scale space of “pavilions, gardens, courtyards, and corridors” in Chinese Gardens is refined to form a sequence of spatial landscapes, transiting from urban open space (public green space) to semiopen space (Entrance), and then to the creational space (Chinese garden). Extracting the connotation of traditional Chinese culture, and blending its “Oneness of Heaven and Man” thought and western “People-oriented” philosophy, an overall planning is formulated that combines with Chinese-style ritual space and modern luxury lifestyle. The integrated planning sets a horizontal and vertical spatial axis, extending inward from the entrance to form a horizontal axis, and creating a Chinese-style landscape in the center of the community. With the Chinese-style landscape as the central axis, it penetrates north-south, effectively constructing a “visual corridor”.
