ZERO is a new format of lodging that presents a revolutionary way of experiencing tourism. This experience is not an hotel nor a hostel, but rather a new type of accommodation where the rooms are wooden compartments purposely created for guests rest.

The inspiration comes from the Japanese 'capsule hotels'. The capsules evolved into larger spaces, with a built-in bathroom and transformed into a wooden box for two people, with a guarantee of comfort and privacy.
As in Japanese models the boxes are stripped of equipment and the main purpose is to ensure a good moment of rest, at any time of day. This architectural solution, with compact sleeping boxes, allows to create large common areas, promoting cultural and social interaction.

The first project opened in Porto in 2018, and the second in Coimbra in 2021. Both projects preserve emblematic architectural details, as well as the facades. The decoration values the heritage and the space memory (in Porto the building was a former bank and in Coimbra a garage), and both were designed with the collaboration of several Portuguese plastic artists.

These perky details (plus a tailormade bottle of beer) make this a unique experience.
